Prof. Dr. Yew Kee WONG (Eric) is a Professor, Associate Vice President and Registrar at Hong Kong Chu Hai College. Previously, he served as a Professor at BASIS, Jiangxi Normal Universityin Jiangxi, and Huanghuai University in Henan. He obtained a BSc (Hons) in Computing Systems and a PhD in AI from Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK. He was the youngest undergraduate and PhD student admitted to NTU at the age of 15 and 19 respectively. He served as Senior Programme Director at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) between 2001 and 2016. He currently serves as a Research Project Supervisor at the Southern Institute of Technology in New Zealand for Masters and PhD students. His research interests include AI, quantum computing, big data analytics, and Web3 technology. In his career as a researcher,he has used a variety of programming languages, including Python, Rust, Java, JavaScript, C++, HTML, PHP, and SQL.


Education

Prof. Dr. Yew Kee WONG (Eric) previously worked as an AI consultant at Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Unisys before moving into the field of education. He was born in Malaysia, educated in the UK, and has lived and worked in China, Hong Kong (Permanent Resident), New Zealand (Permanent Resident), UK (Permanent Resident), Malaysia (Permanent Resident), and Singapore. Besides English, he speaks Putonghua, Cantonese, Indonesian, and Malay fluently. Currently, he is taking online courses in Spanish and Portuguese and studying for his Private Pilot Licence (PPL) at Tauranga Aero Club (New Zealand).


Experience In

Over the course of his career, Prof. Dr. Yew Kee WONG (Eric) has served on more than 200 International Conference program committees, over 150 International Conference technical committees, and more than 100 International Conference co-chairs and session chairs. Since 2016, he has served as Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, and member of the Journal Editorial Board Committee for 16 international journals. He is currently a fellow and professional member of six internationally renowned professional organizations (IEEE, ACM, AAAI, IIBA, AIP, ITA, BCS and IOA). He has published more than 180 articles and research papers in academic journals, conference proceedings, and online media R&D outlets since 1996.
