The Impact of Classroom Technology Integration on Students Engagement and Academic Achievement
Abstract
Effective technology integration is crucial for equipping students with the 21st-century skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital and interconnected world. This study investigated the impact of classroom technology integration on student engagement and academic achievement among Grade 5 students in the District of Tarangnan, Schools Division of Samar during the School Year 2024-2025. A quantitative research design employing descriptive-correlational methods was utilized. Findings revealed a significant and moderate relationship between students perceived classroom technology integration and their level of engagement and academic achievement. Furthermore, the study identified key factors influencing student perceptions of technology integration, including fathers occupation, student sex, home technology access, and student attitudes towards technology. Teacher experience emerged as a significant predictor of student perceptions. Key challenges to effective technology integration included slow or unreliable internet connections and hardware issues. The study recommends prioritizing teacher professional development, enhancing technology infrastructure, addressing student profile variables, fostering positive student attitudes, and continuously monitoring and evaluating technology integration strategies to maximize student learning outcomes.
