Abstract
This phenomenological study delved into the lived experiences of devotees in Ciudad Mistica De Dios (CMDD) in Dolores, Quezon, uncovering the essence of their sense of purpose. Through in-depth interviews with ten participants, the research explored how faith, community, and religious practices shaped their worldview and meaning-making. The thematic analysis yielded ten interconnected themes, highlighting the multifaceted ways how faith influenced the lives of CMDD devotees: Religious Roles as a Source of Purpose; Reliance on Divine Guidance Amidst Difficulties; Collective Purpose through Community and Duty; Fulfilment of Purpose through Faith; Nurturing Love, Salvation, and Growth; Spiritual Values and Priorities Against Material Sufferings; Challenges as Opportunities for Personal and Community Growth; Solidarity through Cooperation and Faith; Faith as a Source of Strength; and Devotion and Divine Connection. These themes highlighted how Ciudad Mistica De Dios devotees derived meaning and purpose from their religious beliefs and practices, finding strength, comfort, and a sense of belonging within their community. The study underscored the profound impact of religious devotion on individuals' sense of purpose, shedding light on the spiritual perspectives and motivations of the Ciudad Mistica De Dios community in Dolores, Quezon. The proposed output, "Puestos: Pathway to Purpose," includes three activities: a Faith and Resilience Workshop, a community service project called Bayanihan in Bloom, and a spiritual retreat called Deepening Our Roots. These activities aim to empower CMDD devotees to deepen their faith, strengthen their sense of purpose, and nurture their spiritual connection.
