Poor civic responsibility among senior high school students is a growing concern, with limited understanding of how social media activism and civic skills influence their engagement. This study aimed to determine the predictive influence of social media activism and civic skills on students' civic responsibility. A descriptive-predictive design   was used, with data collected from 300 senior high school students through simple random sampling. Descriptive statistics revealed that students generally exhibit high levels of social media activism and civic skills, with political awareness being notably low. Correlation analysis showed a strong positive relationship between social media activism and civic responsibility (r = 0.813), and between civic skills and civic responsibility (r = 0.845). Social media activism explained 66.1% of the variance in civic responsibility, while civic skills explained 71.4% of the variance. Regression analysis confirmed that both predictors significantly influenced civic responsibility, with civic skills having a slightly stronger impact. These findings suggest that promoting both social media activism and civic skills is essential for fostering civic responsibility. Future research could explore additional variables, such as political awareness or specific educational interventions, to further understand the remaining variance in students’ civic responsibility and improve strategies for increasing youth engagement.
