Abstract
Student deviancy is alarming. The significance of parental authority and peer influence in predicting student deviancy was determined. Using predictive research design and involving 224 Grade 12 students selected through a purposive sampling technique, it was revealed that the predictors contribute 33% moderate significant strength to predict the criterion. Baumrind’s Parenting Style Theory was affirmed. The conduct of further research and implementation of positive peer influence programs to reduce student deviancy is recommended.
