Abstract
The study determined the significant influence of teachers’ grit and sense of efficacy on teacher effectiveness among physical education teachers in a higher education institution in North Cotabato. The study is a quantitative, descriptive-correlational and predictive designs conducted among 67 physical education teachers different higher education institutions. Adapted questionnaires from several authors were utilized. Mean, standard deviation, Pearson-r, and multiple linear regression were used for the treatment of data. Results revealed the following: teachers’ grit is very high and is always manifested; teachers’ sense of efficacy is very high and is always evident; and, teacher effectiveness is very high and is always observed. Significant relationships exist between teachers’ grit, teachers’ sense of efficacy, and teacher effectiveness. Teachers’ sense of efficacy influenced teacher effectiveness and hence, improving the sense of efficacy improves the teacher effectiveness. It is recommended that teachers’ grit, teachers’ sense of efficacy, and teacher effectiveness may be improved through seminar-workshops and trainings among physical education teachers.
