Abstract

Corporate strategy has undergone significant transformation over the past century, evolving from linear planning models toward more adaptive, interconnected, and dynamic approaches. As organizations confront accelerating technological disruption, global interdependence, stakeholder complexity, and increasing uncertainty, traditional strategic frameworks often prove insufficient for addressing contemporary challenges. Systems thinking offers a powerful alternative by encouraging leaders to view organizations as complex adaptive systems rather than collections of independent functions. This article examines the evolution of corporate strategy through the lens of systems thinking and explores how modern business leaders can integrate systemic perspectives into strategic decision-making, organizational design, innovation management, risk governance, and sustainable value creation. The study argues that future strategic success will depend on leaders' ability to understand interdependencies, anticipate feedback effects, manage complexity, and align organizational actions with broader ecosystem dynamics.
