This qualitative case study examined the resilience of a student with a disability who successfully completed her bachelor's degree in a higher education institution in Davao Oriental, Philippines. Anchored on Resilience Theory, the study sought to understand the difficulties encountered by the student, the strategies she employed in responding to these challenges, and the insights gained from her experiences in relation to her success in higher education. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the student, four peers, and four instructors. The gathered data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings revealed three major themes: Adversity, Mediating Processes, and Better-than-Expected Outcomes. Adversity comprised policy-practice gaps, questioned capability, accessibility barriers, and personal challenges. Despite these difficulties, the student demonstrated resilience through self-advocacy, proactive engagement, persistence, and support mobilization. These protective processes contributed to positive outcomes, including academic success, leadership development, social contribution, and shared responsibility. The findings suggest that resilience resulted from the dynamic interaction between adversity and protective processes. The study provides insights into the experiences and success of a student with a disability in higher education.
