Abstract

For decades, industrial enterprises have regarded energy primarily as an operating expense that must be minimized through efficiency measures and procurement strategies. However, the accelerating global energy transition, increasing carbon regulations, and volatile energy markets have fundamentally changed this perspective. Energy has become a strategic corporate asset capable of generating long-term competitive advantage.

This article explores how executive-level energy management transforms energy from a cost center into a value-generating strategic function. It proposes an integrated management approach combining renewable energy investments, corporate finance, sustainability, regulatory governance, and operational excellence to create measurable economic and environmental value for energy-intensive industries.
