Overgrowth syndromes are among the rarest conditions in medicine, yet their impact extends far beyond clinical diagnosis and treatment. While scientific literature has traditionally focused on genetics, pathophysiology, and medical management, far less attention has been given to the social experiences of individuals living with visible rare conditions. This article examines how visibility influences public perception, stigma formation, identity construction, social participation, and inclusion among individuals affected by overgrowth syndromes. Drawing upon concepts from disability studies, health communication, social psychology, stigma theory, and patient advocacy, the article argues that many of the challenges associated with rare overgrowth conditions emerge not from biology itself but from societal responses to visible difference. Particular attention is given to media representation, digital self-advocacy, community formation, language, social inclusion, and the transformative role of patient-led advocacy. The article proposes a framework for shifting public discourse from curiosity and otherness toward dignity, representation, and human diversity. Ultimately, it argues that effective advocacy should move beyond awareness alone and contribute to broader social transformation capable of reducing stigma and strengthening inclusion for individuals living with rare conditions.
